Rude, Condescending, poor repairs
I've used this shop four times as it's on my way to work and v convenient. Everytime they've been dismissive and condescending, twice they've made comments about my weight. (15.5st, 6'). The first time was for a gear service, the guy spent five minutes on pick-up telling me what a 'piece of cr*p' my £400 bike was, and making repeated unpleasant comments about it not bearing my weight for long. Having ridden it and realised that the gears were if anything worse than when it went in, I learnt to tune them myself, and did a better (if not perfect) job in just under 45 minutes. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, perhaps a bad day? The forth and final visit, and another weight jibe later I nipped in for an innertube I needed badly for my daughters 12" bike. The guy took a long look up and down at me, sneered and said 'for a pushchair is it?' Needless to say, I won't be using the shop again. I cycle 17 miles a day to work and back, I can do without being patronised simply because I'm not a lycra'd up racer. Steve

Nothing like service
I took my bike to Brotherton Cycles for a gear service today, and haven't ever been treated so badly. PIcking up the bike, first words spoken were 'this bike is absolutely crap.' He went on for 2-3 minutes in this vein. When I questioned why he was taking this tone, he suggested he was helping me be aware of it's faults, instead I simply felt shabbily treated and verbally abused. His attitude was condescending, superior and plain rude. When I questioned his assessment about the hubs, he then commented on my weight! Not a pleasant experience, and one that left me determined never to shop there again.
