Restaurant - Pub Food in Leighton Buzzard

I've changed my mind about the Grove Lock - another change of management (I hear it's Fuller's training pub) and a refurb. Food is a bit under par when the pub is heaving as it always is on bank holidays and hot weekends, but that's to be expected. There's a pretty decent choice but I would suggest lighter meals such as a better selection of salads, as the food tends to be sarnies or heavy n'chips fodder. But a glorious location on the canal and a friendly buzz.

The pub is lovely. The interior creates a wonderful warm atmosphere. The big let down here is the food.I ordered a chicken ceasar salad as a main course for about £9.95. I was served what looked like a piece of reformed breaded chicken and about 4 limp soggy lettuce leaves, 5 croutons, no parmeasan and a watery dressing. There don't seem to be any minus star options to rate the food so I just cannot give an honest rating.

I'm giving this place two stars as it is fine if you use it as a pub/bar. The setting is glorious, on the Grove Lock canal so you can while away an afternoon watching the boats go through. The food there was never very good but recently there has been a change of management and the food is downright disgusting. The service is rubbish too, the waiters and waitresses are just not trained. It is also too cold. So, swerve the food, and enjoy a glass of wine but take a jumper.
