Visit to the Restaurant 23/03/2011

Had the misfortune to visit The Old Post Office on 23/03/2011 for a meal.We were given a table in what appeared to be a fairly empty restaurant being advised most tables were booked ? After having to request menus to view we ordered 2 glass's of rose' but to the waitress's credit suggested at £6.40 it would be cheaper to buy a bottle at £9.00 which turned out to be £10.95 when we got the bill !!.I ordered surf & turf requesting the steak to be cooked "pink no blood" sadly the steak was so thin if the "chef"? had flashed it under the grill it would have been well done. The vegetables were obviously frozen and the mash potato which I think were fresh bordered on "smash" provided with2 foiled packed pieces of butter for me presumably "to make my own?" My wife ordered beef lasagne but requested a small side salad in lieu of the vegetables & potatoes that normally come with the meal but was advised this would be an extra charge.Not to be reccomended !!!!
