CARPET CLEANING

Steam Genies adhere to a strict method of cleaning based on a corrective care cleaning system which is approved by leading carpet cleaning authorities.

We have been trained by both Prochem, a leading manufacturer and supplier of our equipment, and the National Carpet Cleaners Association.

1. We will inspect the carpet making note of the condition, fixings, backing and seams, level of soiling and any specific stains. We conduct a variety of tests to establish the carpet type, in particular we will test the carpet to ensure dyes are colourfast to the specific treatments to be used. The survey forms the basis of a written quotation.

2. We will move any furniture that needs moving to enable us to access all areas to be cleaned.

3. We use a carpet brush to rake the pile. This has the effect of opening up the pile to allow for more efficient vacuuming.

4. We vacuum the opened pile with a powerful (industry preferred) vacuum cleaner.

5. Spot and stains are pre-treated with a suitable cleaning solution before being agitated using an oscillating pad machine. This drives the cleaning solution to the depth of the soiling.

6. The carpet is now cleaned using either the hot water extraction / 'steam cleaning' method or dry cleaning.

7. We apply any additional carpet protector or santitiser that you have asked for.

8. Finally we will re-align (correctly set) the pile using a clean carpet rake.

9. Before leaving we will put the furniture back, placing the legs onto foil protectors. This is to ensure that the dyes and stains used on the furniture legs do not bleed into the cleaned carpet.

RUG CLEANING

Rugs can be cleaned in situ at the customer's home or can be taken away and cleaned at our premises. There is no charge for collection and delivery.

There are two potential methods of cleaning:

1. Following the detailed process as per the carpet cleaning method.

2. A full immersion whereby the rug is soaked in a vat of cleaning fluid and agitated perhaps over a period of days. This method is particularly effective for deep and stubborn stains and odours from for example blood or urine. Note, the rug will be tested for susceptibility to shrinkage prior to deciding on this method.

LEATHER CLEANING

All types of leather and faux leather furniture cleaned, conditioned and lovingly restored.

The process is not a 'steam' extraction. It is one of understanding the type of leather and treating it with loving care.

Soiling and stains will be removed and the leather conditioned, returning it to its soft luxurious feel.
