Admiral Cleaners ruined my curtains
I took my expensive curtains for my French doors to Admiral Cleaners. The curtains were very heavy and fully lined. I had them specially made to last. I was quoted £55 to dry clean them so I asked if there were any alternative way to clean them and was told that they could wash, dry and iron them. I was surprised as I did not think they could be washed but Mr. Hussian assured me it would be ok so I agreed at a cost of £30. At no time did he warn me that my curtains might shrink. I collected my curtains three days later. They were still damp and did not smell very fresh at all but when I hung them up they had shrunk considerably, a good six inches and the attached linings hung down below the actual curtain. I contacted Mr. Hussian who argued that it was my choice to have the curtains washed and did not accept that he was meant to have the expertise in this respect as he ran a cleaning business. I was offered my £30 back but was told that it was not their fault. I have checked with trading standards and believe that Mr. Hussian was negligent in that he did not warn me the curtains might shrink and also, when I queried with him, that they could be washed, he said they certainly could be. I understand that Mr. Hussian and Admiral Cleaners have failed me as a customer. I expected Admiral Cleaners to comply with the Supply Of Services & Goods Act. I gave Mr. Hussian the opportunity to remedy the situation but he refused saying he is not responsible. He most certainly is and in addition to this is very quick to point out that he is fully qualified and has his qualifications displayed in his window. I wish I had never given my business to this company and will be mounting a legal action against this person and his company within the next seven days if he does not compensate me within this time. Be warned!

Poor service and rude owner
Took double duvet there today having spilt cup of tea over it. When collected tea stains still clearly visible. Owner advised me that it was washed at 30degs using bio washing powder and wanted me to pay again to have it rewashed. It had already cost me £14 for the serviced wash & dry. I have reported this business to the consumer advice service as they are in breach of the supply of goods and services act 1982 in not taking reasonable care and skill in cleaning this item.
