Avoid these solicitors when handling property matters.

On the surface these solicitors did an amicable job of securing my interests when handling a property matter concerning my ex matrimonial home. My difficulty was following completion. On their advice I agreed to have the monies owed transferred direct to them on the day of completion. They made a fee of £40.00 for this. They would take their invoice from this fee and promptly forward the rest to myself. Shortly before completion day they issued an invoice and requested immediate payment. So as I’d paid the invoice I requested they get the other party to transfer the funds direct to my account as there was now no need to pay into Newbolds & Co.’s account. They ignored this instruction and proceeded to take the funds. Now I’m getting the run-around and various reasons why they are delaying transferring the money to me. This suggests that they are hanging onto my money for no reason other than they themselves must be having cash flow issues and are desperate for the interest. My experience with Newbold & Co. is they are capable when it comes to dealing with your issues with another party, ie. generating revenue for themselves but unethical when it comes to settling their own obligations to their customers. Fortunately we are not short of solicitors in Cwmbran so I’d advise you shop around.
