Baked Potatoes
After deciding to go out for lunch with my girlfriend , we decided to go to Cafe Melo. Thinking because if it surroundings being in inverkip, the staff, service and food would be to a high standard. (well i would have settled for reasonable) We both ordered the same backed potatoes and tuna. when our food came out it looked good . Fresh salad nice hot baked potato . As my girlfriend neared the middle of her potatoes she realised it wasn't cooked. I then realised my own potato wasn't cooked in the middle. Im not one to complain myself , so decided to eat around the raw potato . but as we got past the middle the potatoes was Black / Grey inside the sight made my girlfriend feel like vomiting . Once we had called the waitress over she seemed annoyed we had complained and asked if we wanted her to take it away and re-cook it. WHY WOULD WE WANT A RE-COOKED ROTTEN POTATO????!!!! I thought to myself. Thinking the staff would have realised that they had done wrong , not only sending out raw food , but rotten food!we went to pay the bill, and to my horror they charged me the full bill , not even offering a discount or anything . I was to embarrassed to say anything . They never even apologised or anything . Never again shall i be going into this cafe . The cafe itself appeared to be clean but , I have had better service and potatoes from mobile snack bars and that's saying something!

Lunch time
We are local to the area and had some friends visiting from Ireland. We were looking for somewhere nice to eat on a hot afternoon and pulled into Cafe Melo.There were tables and sunshades set outside - giving a continental feel to the place and we all enjoyed lovely food in great surroundings from friendly efficient staff.

Lasagne at Cafe Melo
Had a very pleasant evening there, good atmosphere. Excellent food especially the lasagne - obviously home made. thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Cafe Melo experience
After a day yachting at Kip Marina, I decided, as it was a beautiful evening, (it's hard to beat a West Scotland summer evening sunset)) that rather than go racing home I'd look for somewhere in Inverkip village for supper. My decision was an excellent one as I sat in the Cafe Milo, enjoying great food, drink and the friendliest staff I've encountered in a café bar and I've ate in hundreds. I can't recommend my Cafe Milo experience enough. Visit, you want be disappointed.
