I disagree with the above review saying the staff are against social work and are child abusers. The place was not perfect however. They seemed to think “social exclusion” (that’s what they called it) was an appropriate punishment for a 9 year old. They often kept emotionally important family items locked in an office as a punishment too, even going so far as to outright BIN things, then denying having done so when the child tried to tell someone (although this was only one staff member) Most of the staff were lovely. A few even came across as though they genuinely enjoyed the job, and cared about the children. I visited again once, to see the people I missed, and they had done away with social exclusion. I think they had the same punishment but called it something else. F There was a chef called John who would prepare the most delicious meals for everyone and we could even pick what we wanted sometimes. It was truly a treat having that, although looking back, I took it for granted because of my undiagnosed adhd and severe sensory issues that went unnoticed. While I was there, the decking was built out the back. It made it slippy as heck and less fun to play in, but five minutes away we had the park, where I spent a lot of time. I miss some things about this place and other things I try to forget. But I wouldn’t go so far as to say they are child abusers.
