A few weeks ago I decided to visit North Berwick with a friend. Neither of us had been there for years so off we went on our pensioners' bus passes! Top priority for Robert was finding a pub that sold Tennants, top priority for me was a good lunch! We had a good look round, peered through windows, etc and finally we came across "The Ship Inn", right next to Tourist Information.I had an espresso and Robert had a pint of Tennants. We looked at the menu and the day's "specials" for £5 sounded great. Off we went and visited the local sights and shops and went back to The Ship at lunchtime. I had roasted loin of cod in lemon butter, topped with pancetta and served with steamed fresh vegetables for £5.It was the best value for money I've had in years. The coffee was excellent too and Robert was very happy with his 5 pints of lager while I enjoyed the food. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! They have tables outside, where I enjoyed my coffee with a cigarette. Unfortunately when Robert ventured out with his pint and a fag a seagull emptied his bowels on his bald patch!!
