Kings is a really nice place to go if you're looking for a pit-stop when you're shopping in Dumfries (or sheltering from the rain!).It's fairly small which is good because it's quiet. I think many people have been put off from going there because it's a Christian bookshop, but the books are at the back of the shop, with the coffee shop at the front. The traybakes are amazing and they do great scones - I've seen Mars Bar ones and Bounty ones which were both very nice! The staff are lovely and the savoury food is great too. I do find it slightly expensive for lunch though - I've seen some of the toasties/sandwiches come in at around £4-odd. The plus point of this is that I now consider going to Kings as a treat, thus saving money and weight gain!

Kings is a coffee shop combined with a Christian Bookshop in Dumfries town centre. It has been tastefully refurbished recently. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. Whilst you order food and drinks at the counter, these are then freshly prepared and served to you at your table. They offer an extensive variety of coffees etc and always have a really nice selection of home made scones and tray bakes. They also do sandwiches, toasties, paninis etc and a selection of home made soups each day. Prices represent good value for the quality of food offered. Well worth a visit.
