Cafes and Snack Bars in Thurso
The Old Police Station
Bettyhill
Thurso
Sutherland

Cafe offering hot food, snacks and drinks. Also fish and chips throughout the day. On a Friday and Saturday night feel free to pop into our restaurant for fish and chips or alternatively ring us for a take away service.
This Cafe should be avoided at all costs. A group of us recently completed the Lands End to John O'Groats cycle ride, during the ride we stopped in numerous cafes and coffee shops and got a fantastic reception from everyone bar one - The Cafe at Bettyhill. The owner was rude, made comments that we could have booked in advance to order 5 hot chocolates and a coffee (this was 11am). While we were waiting, one of our group was eating an energy bar (as we did in every other cafe due to the fact we were cycling 120 miles a day) while we waited for the hot chocolates and looked at the cakes on offer (which we were going to order 5). The owner came crashing through (without drinks) and was very rude about a cyclist eating a cycling energy bar and was one of the most inhospitable characters I have ever had the displeasure to meet. Needless to say we were shocked that this character with 'short mans syndrome' was so rude that we drank our (very poorly made and over priced) hot chocolates and left. After cycling 900+ miles this was this only bad experience we had of the British Hospitality industry and unfortunately the lasting memory that will stay with us (and anyone else who visits this terrible place). Please avoid at all costs, Scotland and Britain has far more to offer.
