It is run by Gordon Nicolson who has 25 years of experience in the business and can answer most questions that are thrown at him!!!!

We are based in Edinburgh on the historic Royal Mile which links Edinburgh Castle with Holyrood House and we are within a few hundred yards of the new Scottish Parliament building. We specialise in offering a personal service to all customers - both locally in Edinburgh and Internationally. We have many years experience in Highlandwear and can offer expert advice on every aspect - choosing a Highland outfit, which tartans are appropriate, the correct accessories for a given outfit and occasion, and how to correctly wear the kilt. Kilts come in two different weights of cloth, medium weight which is 12/13oz and heavyweight which is 16/17oz. They both have different qualities and the benefits of both are detailed below.



All our kilts are 8 yards hand stitched, with shaping in the small of the back to ensure perfect fit and that the kilt does not slip as the day goes on. This is the easiest weight of kilt to wear. In this weight of kilt the heat retention is less than the heavyweight but still hangs well and looks very sharp. The majority of kilts sold are in this weight. We pride ourselves on giving customers individual service and advice, so although the above information is a guideline we would normally advise a customer on the weight of cloth and yardage required personally for their individual needs.
