Clareview Nursing Home

Clareview Nursing Home is a family run home offering 24 hour care from a team of dedicated nurses and carers.
The Nursing Home aims to provide each individual patient with the highest standards of service of care possible and maintaining the basic values which underline the quality of life of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights and fulfilment in addition to providing a home from home.
1. To provide a nursing care service for residents in a relaxed home like environment with a high standard of care.
2. To ensure that there will be a programme of care which will provide every practical opportunity and encouragement to each individual resident and which will help him/her maintain and pursue the highest quality of life, consistent with their physical, emotional and mental abilities.
3. To do everything practical to ensure that each resident achieves the greatest possible degree of independence and self assurance according to their functional ability and to provide good food, warm and comfortable surroundings and a variety of activities which will contribute to their ongoing well being.
Clareview is registered by the RQIA in accordance with the Health and personal Social Services (Quality, Improvement and regulation)(Northern Ireland) Order 2003, providing twenty seven beds for nursing care and eight beds for residential care . The bedrooms are single occupancy with each bedroom fitted with a nurse calling system and although we do not have en suite facilities there are toilets close by and commodes can be provided as required/requested.

Clareview is set in one acre of grounds with a patio area to the rear of the home accessed through patio doors from the dining room, a small grassed area to the front of the home, landscaped gardens, and is close to the town of Ballyclare which makes it accessible for local friends and family.
The building was a two story house which was converted to suit a nursing home and extended as seen fit, with lounges, reception area, dining room, nurses station, clinical room and Managers office.

There are toilets, bathrooms, showers, sluice rooms and linen stores convenient to each floor providing good accessibility for both patients and staff.

Each bedroom wing has fire exits giving greater safety in the event of fire.


Aims of Clareview Private Nursing Home

To provide all patients/residents with a life that is as normal as possible, given their individual health and needs in homely surroundings.

To provide all patients/residents with care which will enable them to live as independently as possible with privacy, dignity and with the opportunity to make their own choices.
Objectives of Clareview Private Nursing Home

To ensure that assessment of need will be used to develop individual care plans with the objective of meeting the aims of the home for each patient/resident.

To provide each patient/resident with a home, equipment and competent staff to enable the aims of objectives of the home to become a reality.


Achieving the Aims and Objectives of Clareview Private Nursing Home.

In order to achieve the aims and objectives, the home must ensure not only the ongoing development of best practices through nursing and social care, but also ensure that the building is based upon the best creative thinking as far as possible.

Since 1983 Clareview Private Nursing Home has cared for elderly frail persons who may also be suffering from physical illnesses or mild mental impairment including dementia and confusion.

The prime objective of the proprietor is to provide a high level of care for residents equal to that provided by a close relative or friend in an environment not unlike that found at home. There is also the added assurance of nursing care.

Our residents are offered encouragement to follow their individual interests and perhaps even develop new ones during their stay.

An activity person is employed to assist in maintaining and developing individual interests

Clareview is situated close to Doagh village and form part of that community and in a residential area in the immediate outskirts of Ballyclare and as such the community are made welcome and indeed, give support to the activities organized within the home.


Much support is given by outside concerns, helping to improve the quality of life for our residents during their stay at Clareview Private Nursing Home.


A range of entertainment and activities, which residents may choose to attend according to personal preference, are provided.


The staff encourage residents to participate in the various activities depending what they are interested in and capable of doing.


Residents are encouraged to maintain links within the community and if they wish they can attend facilities in the community. e.g. Lunch clubs, or Senior citizens clubs.


The home also provides evening functions within the home and friends and families are welcome to attend.
