LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Discovery Bay Restaurant!!Everything about this place is fantastic, friendly helpfull staff, gorgeous atmosphere, and taste experiences to die for!! the food is simply devine!!!!I have been on a few occassions and advise that you pre-book a table to avoid disappointment! this place is very popular which sings out its praises without words! any place that its not guaranteed that your going to get a table without booking is definately an A***** place. In the times that i have visited discovery bay I have had the pleasure of eating crab cakes with sweet chilli dipping sauce amazing! curried goat (melt in your mouth gorgeousness!) and so full of flavour and my favourite jerk chicken which is served as you like it mild, medium or hot and I like it hot baby and their Jerk chicken packs a punch but the sort of punch you just want over and over again rich deep flavours are amazing served with rice and peas which are delicious theres soo much to choose from and lots of side dishes aswell like yummy fried plantain and dumplings mmmmmmmmmmmmmmand even if you feel like your going to POP you just simply have to sample a pudding from there desert selection there lime and ginger cheese cake is mouthwateringly fabulous so too is the ginger cake with icecream. I am yet to try the other delights on offer but i will make it my goal to sample a little of everything.so if your wanting a lovely evening filled with a great atmosphere, lovely kind people, great music, incredible food and lots of love definately get yourself to Discovery Bay even on the coldest of nights this carribean delight will heat you up xxx

Me and my DH (J) decided to try Discovery Bay after reading the excellent reviews it has had in the press lately. On arrival we were shown to the bar area and sat down with our drinks. These were reasonably priced. Whilst sitting there we were shown the menu and we placed our orders for starters and mains. I chose the Ribs for a starter, and J had a Saltfish (cant remember the actual name) dish. There was such a lovely choice in both the set menu, and the specials that we really had trouble deciding what to have. For the mains I ordered Curried Goat, and J had a stuffed chicken dish that was on the specials menu.We were told that our table was ready and on arrival at it, the starters were there ready for us. The service from the staff was amazing! The venue itself is a lovely small restaurant, with really nice decor. It has a bit of an industrias feel to it. The reggae music playing softly in the background all added to the afro caribbean feel. The food itself was delicious. The ribs were amazing - the meat so succulent it just fell from the bone. J's starter was equally as nice (though I didnt try it because I am not a fan of fish). The mains were brought out within minutes of finishing the starters. The curried goat was superb - so rich and succulent. The rice accompanying it was the best I have ever tasted - with lovely kidney beans and a coconut flavour. It complimented the curried goat well.J's stuffed chicken looked amazing too and he assured me it tasted even better than it looked! I couldnt fit it all in, but the staff were very helpful and offered me to box it up so I could enjoy more at home - I was so thrilled! We couldnt resist the wonderful deserts on offer and I chose a passionfruit cheesecake. J went for a warm ginger cake with icecream. The deserts were truly scrumpcious and left you wanting more - absolutely amazing. The bill came to £63 - not bad for 2 3 course meals, and 6 drinks. I was drinking rum and coke and J had corona. The staff were amazing, the food was to die for and the venue was more than adequate! I look forward to my next visit!
