Comestibles - Midhurst's best kept secret

This charming deli and cafe, tucked away behind the main street on Red Lion St is a real find. We usually go there after a good walk across the golf course and Cowdray Estate. It only seats fourteen or so lunchtime diners so is usually pretty full, but is well worth it if you can get a table. Otherwise they do takeaway sandwiches and coffees so you can order a picnic feast when the weather's nice. There's a great choice of sandwiches, baked potatoes, soup and so on - what you'd expect of a cafe but everything is fabulously fresh, beautifully presented and incredibly good value for the standard. I've also tried their individual bakewell tart before - absolutely delicious. We often treat ourselves to a Dandelion and Burdock (a childhood favourite) as well as a generous pot of tea. I don't understand why there aren't more reviews on here for Comestibles. Maybe the Midhurst locals are keeping this particular gem to themselves!
