The. Best. Service.

If I could give 10/5 for service, I would. I'm so glad I stayed at The Dun Horse. The pub has a good atmosphere. Neither throbbing BANGBANGBANG music, nor wary locals: just an easy relaxed place to be. The room was tidy and had a large window. Rather cozy, but that was ok. Food is ok, mobile reception is not. But the room rate was reasonable, and the service was excellent. I've stayed in 5 star hotels that could learn a thing or two from Kevin and Claire's approach to service. Here's what kind of service they provide at the Dun Horse Inn: I had a weird business schedule, so I wanted to stay at the Dun Horse for as long as possible in the morning. They said the person who'd booked the room for the next night was only arriving at 10PM, so I could stay until 9PM. 9PM! When I asked to see the rabbits I'd heard about (thinking they'd be in the garden or other common area), it turned out the bunnies were in the landlord and landlady's bedroom. But the landlady, Claire, took time out of a busy day to bring me up stairs and let me meet the rabbits. Eventually, I took a taxi to my next destination. Late that evening, I realised I still had the Dun Horse room key in my pocket. I was just contemplating hiring a taxi to drop off the room key, when Kevin phoned me to say he'd found a nail file that I'd left behind. Kevin then announced that he was going out for a ride on his bike anyway, and could pop over to where I was to give me my nail file and pick up the key. Which is exactly what he did. What a guy. And this was probably at about 10PM. If it's essential to use my phone and the weather's not fine enough for a trip to the garden, then I'll need to stay somewhere else. Otherwise, when I'm in the area I'll stay at the Dun Horse.
