Hidden Costs!!!!

Although the staff at Burke Bros are incredibly pleasant and flexible (the removal guys themselves are hard working and delightful to deal with) - you need to be careful when you want to only have a partial load. In our case, the removal was made in March with an expected delivery to France at the beginning of May as per our request. Of course, we expected to pay for the storage for that period. When the expected delivery date drew near, BB advised that it may be at the end of the May......OK. Following more communications back and forth - the delivery date was set to be 4th July. Although it was an inconvenience, what could we do? However - the issue arose in that we were expected to pay for the additional storage time from May to July - which equated to an extra £400. BB settled on a 50/50 split on this extra cost. We were not happy with this (especially as we had no control over the delivery date) - but we wanted our delivery and we were informed that the delivery will not be made unless full payment had been received. My advice therefore is when you are discussing partial loads - please be aware that BB will want to charge you for storage even going past your expected delivery date of which you have no control. Your delivery dates for partial loads are in their hands - so beware of those hidden costs.
