About Us

What is car wrapping?

Car wrapping is the process of transforming the appearance of your car using coloured vinyl film. Vehicles were originally wrapped for the sole purpose of advertising businesses i.e Sky/Virgin Media Vans.

It is only within the last few years where colour changing a car with vinyl has become popular.

The reason is simple: Car wrapping is significantly cheaper than a paint job and does not affect the original paintwork, whilst offering a level of protection from the elements and minor scratches. The vinyl wrap can be easily removed should you want to revert back to the original colour. Our FAQs page will cover many questions you may have.

How to wrap a car?

The key stages in wrapping a car are:
Ensure the car is washed before entering our workshop.
Removal of as much hardware as possible (headlights, tail lights, door handles, antennas, and sometimes mirrors, doors and bumpers)
Carefully prepare each panel by cleaning thoroughly with a mild detergent to get rid of any dirt, and then going over it again with a degreaser to get rid of any oils on the surface of the paint paying special attention to corners and edges.
Ensure the work area is at a warm temperature and is dust free.
Conform the vinyl using industry approved techniques to reach into concave and convex recess and wrap around tight corners. If the vinyl fitting is forced and rushed it will fail.
Once the car is wrapped, each panel is quality checked and once passed is left to sit to cool down in room temperature.

If any of these stages are missed it will cause the vinyl wrap to fail long before its due.
