My 1/3rd time at the joint. 1st two I wasn't impressed with the fish dishes. Not fresh and smelt off. However the Pizza at my last visit was great.

I was nearly put off this place by the negative reviews but I am so glad I tried it for myself. My first visit was on a Friday evening just after Christmas and I was surprised just how big the place is. There is a huge bar / reception area where I met my work colleagues before we had our meal. The food and service were second to none and the atmosphere was amazing. The manager made us feel very welcome and as one of our party was celebrating a birthday before we knew it there were a group of waiters serenading her with tambourines and singing in Italian, it was a fantastic evening. Second time I visited was with my husband on a Monday night and was pleasantly surprised that there was a rat pack singer performing in the lounge, apparently this is a regular weekly thing. I have dined at many restaurants in the region and for me Martino's wins hands down.

Not ideal evening meal

The pricey food was hit and miss. We were in a group of six and three enjoyed their meal whilst three didn't. The ribs starter costing £5 contained very little meat, the 2 fillet steaks at £20 were tiny and the sirloin at £15 was chewy and more rare than medium to well as requested. My cheesecake at £4 was less than fresh too with a swirl of cream that had gone off. At these prices you expect a better standard of meal so whilst our guests and ourselves did not wish to cause a scene, we shall simply vote with our feet and not return.

Went on 01/01/09 for my daughters 18th birthday. Meal was ok service and atmosphere was dreadful. We mentioned to the waitress that we had been waiting for 40mins to her reply 'oh have you' and walked away. No apology or explaination to why there was a delay. Think the staff are in need of some in house training and customer care service (urgent) !!!

7 Adults went to martinos on 01/01/09 for my daughters 18th birthday. We wished we had'nt bothered the atmosphere was dreadful. Waited 40mins for our main meal to arrive, when we mentioned this to the waitress she reply 'oh have you' with no applogy or i will see why its taken so long. Its obvious the staff have no customer care policy or had any in house training !!!!!
