Alex Smiles Limited was established in 1973 by Alex & Jane Smiles. Alex created the business out a need for reclaimed car parts demonstrating remarkable enterprise skills.
The business remains a family oriented enterprise with direction from Stuart and John Smiles.
The company expanded in 2002 relocating the main operations to Deptford Terrace, our current nine Acre Site on the banks of the River Wear next to the Queen Alexander Bridge.
Further investment of \u00a34.5 Million pounds in 2009 resulted in the commissioning of a Material Recycling Facility and 25% increase in Employment by the company.
