Spend your money elsewhere

I ordered bridesmaid dresses from here in November, for an August wedding. It's my local store and despite receiving poor reviews from friends about their, 'snooty' service I found it convenient to shop here - after all, it was only for bridesmaid dresses, what could possibly go wrong? Plenty. Firstly, don't even think of coming here without an appointment. Secondly, you'll be made to remove your footwear at the door, 'to protect the stock'. Thirdly, expect your ability to afford to shop there to be questioned. Even with a middle-class accent and a local postcode I was made to feel like I wasn't quite the clientele they're after. Do not believe them when they say your order will not be placed until you confirm sizes. The children's dresses came back far too big and one of the adults came back a size too small. After questioning the size of the adult dress, I was told that it wasn't their fault that the adult had recently had a baby and that they were hoping to add an extra panel at the first fitting. I asked for the adult dress to be changed for the size I'd ordered, they refused saying that it wouldn't be back in time for the wedding. I then asked for a refund, again I was refused as in their opinion, 'the dresses are perfect'. Actually, they're not, they're the wrong sizes. Also, the adult dress is flawed, some of the beading on the bodice has been sewn in the wrong place (albeit by the manufacturer and not Surrey Brides). I also had great difficulty getting an appointment for fittings, I only discovered the sizing mistake of the adult dress once I'd paid for all the dresses in full so that I could take them away for the girls to try on at home. This Thursday (June), I've *finally* got a first fitting appointment - two months after I was promised one. I'm going to give them the opportunity to rectify their mistake, after all what choice do I have? I will definitely not be shopping here again and wish I'd listened to all those who had warned me not to come here in the first place.
