About Us
Here at Xways cycles we like to be able to send you on your way confident that your bicycle will not let you down.
As a Cytech accredited mechanic all bicycle issues can be covered, either at your home, workplace or in the workshop. Xways Cycles tries to take the heart-ache out of having your bike serviced. We come to you, at your convenience. This allows you to use your bike up until the moment it needs servicing or repair.
Services
We provide a full service for all cyclists - from fixing punctures at the roadside to full strip down, rebuild or restoration. We work on all manner of bicycles, tandems and tricycles, and both adult and children's bikes.
We offer a call out service within the South London North Surrey area to meet all your bicycle maintenance and repair needs, please call us on the number below.

Bronze Service £15
Recommended for those who would like to know before committing to a Service Package
If you would just like to find out the current condition of your bike before committing to one of our servicing packages then the perfect solution is to book our Bike Inspection.
This is an external visual inspection of your bicycle by one of our professional mechanics who will advise if the bicycle is safe to ride and any work and replacement that may need to be done.
A full quote and recommendations will be emailed to you; if you then decide to progress with one of our servicing packages the cost of the Bike Inspection will be deducted from the cost of the service; advance payment is required for all bike inspections.
If you have had a Bike Inspection there is no obligation to buy one of our Service Packages.
Silver Service £40
Recommended where the bike has been used but not adjusted or lubricated for 6 months
The Silver Service includes full inspection and adjustment of all moving parts and an external check of all bearings and cables, including:
Full safety check for road worthiness
Frame and forks inspected for alignment
Tighten, adjust and lubricate brake system
External check of all bearings
Tighten, adjust and lubricate gear system
Wheels checked for damage / wear· Tighten all bike parts
Full examination of all bike parts and advice on further repairs where necessary
Wheel truing
A check sheet will be provided with details of all work that has been performed. Fitting of any new parts may incur a small surcharge and replacement parts are not included. (see prices for other servicing work), though additional work will only be done once we have received your express permission
Gold Service £65
Recommended where the bike has received good use without a service of at least 6 months
The Gold Service is as the Silver Service PLUS:
Wheel hubs removed, cleaned, lubricated and refitted
New inner cables fitted
This will help your wheels to run better plus replacing cables improves brake performance and gear changing.
A check sheet will be provided with details of all work that has been performed. Fitting of any new parts may incur a small surcharge and replacement parts are not included. (see prices for other servicing work), though additional work will only be done once we have received your express permission
Platinum Service £110
The recommended annual service for any bikes that receive good use
The Platinum Service is as the Gold Service PLUS:
Full strip down and wipe down to frame & forks
All parts removed, cleaned, inspected for wear & damage and refitted
Inner & outer cables replaced
Wheels trued
Hubs, headset, bottom bracket & all drive parts removed, cleaned, inspected, lubricated and refitted
Bottom-bracket & brake disc mounts inspected
A check sheet will be provided with details of all work that has been performed. Fitting of any new parts may incur a small surcharge and replacement parts are not included. (see prices for other servicing work), though additional work will only be done once we have received your express permission.

Alan Rowson did a routine service on my Trek hybrid road bicycle, 'discovered' a fault with the chain, busted it off and then realised he did not have the correct replacement size? To cover up his stupendous incompetence he claimed the chain was a rare size which he could not stock from a bicycle shop or the internet? Unbelievable. When I went to hunt down a chain he claimed that another size of chain might work - which it did (because it was the correct size for my mass-produced bicycle) He is very sly. When I remonstrated with him over the phone, he threatened me with violence. I found him to be a devious and malevolent creature. Make sure you get his address and licence plate number before letting him do any work - the address on his website was one he left years ago (although he has changed it now), and he did a good job of hiding his number plate when he was here.

Local Business-Use it or Loose it!
'Alan the bike' A personal service by a 'time served technician' at your home, so no lugging your bikes to a high street store. Friendly, proficient, and at the end of a phone/email. Cost: it aint 19.95 but you get what you pay for do you not JohnC
