2010
In contrast to the previous reviewer, I found the staff to be totally lacking in any knowledge of their own products, and incompetent at even basic bicycle maintenance. There are simply too many issues to report them all here - I will summarise. I wrote off my last bike, a Specialized Sirrus Sport (2010) and went to them for a replacement. It had taken me many months to get comfortable on the Sirrus so it was vital that I had an exact replacement as I was due to complete a 1,000 mile Lands End to John O'Groats expedition in just a few weeks time. Firstly, they advised I buy 2011 Sirrus Sport - however their staff were unaware that this model is NOT identical to last year's model, in that it has aluminium forks rather than carbon. Given that I had stated comfort as one of my main goals this was a major omission as aluminium forks will give a far harsher ride. I spotted the omission and upgraded to the next model up, the 2011 Sirrus Elite, at a cost of another £100. I asked if I could have the gears lowered and was told that the rear mech was as low as you can get. Again, after researching myself I found that this was patently untrue as the Sirrus Elite has a mountain-bike spec rear cog setup. I made it clear that I urgently needed the bike so I could resume my training, but they showed no sign of urgency in building the bike. I had to chase them several times. Then when I took my first ride on the bike, within about 10 miles the rear wheel buckled as it had been improperly tensioned. Checking the tension on a wheel is a basic task for a bike shop. I then had to wait a full day for them to repair the fault. A few weeks later I embarked on my 1,000 mile expedition. On day 10 the same wheel buckled again, this time because one of the spokes had pulled through the rim. This was caused by the spoke being over-tensioned. Had this happened on a steep descent the sudden instability could easily have sent me off the road or into traffic. As it was I was lucky this happened near enough to a town with a bike shop that was open, otherwise I would have been unable to complete the event. I will never use them again and recommend you avoid them.

As a person that knows little about bicycles I found the staff knowledgeable and unpatronising when they helped me. I left with a bike that is perfect for my needs and didn't feel like they were trying to sell me everything in the shop.
