About Us

Fitness for Women, the alternative to a “traditional" gym, offers a fun and effective 30 minute workout that will change your view of exercise forever. Our express circuit combines strength training and cardio and we are helping women of all ages, sizes and fitness levels become fitter, stronger and healthier for life.

Are you trying to shift those extra pounds from your summer holiday? Or perhaps seeing yourself in those holiday photos has motivated you to do something about your shape but you find the thought of a traditional gym scary or intimidating? Then Fitness for Women is the place for you!

At Fitness for Women we are dedicated to helping women become fit for life through exercise and healthier eating. There are no mirrors or men and just 30 minutes three times a week is all it takes to see great results. Women who say, they “don't do gyms", thrive in our welcoming, supportive environment where enthusiastic coaches are on hand to help members reach their goals.

As most women don't have hours to spare, the express workout is easy to fit into even the most hectic lifestyle. There are no set classes; members can drop in at any time and just slot into a position on the circuit.

Our workout builds and protects lean muscle tissue, increases metabolism and burns body fat. The machines, which are specially designed to suit the female body, automatically react to the amount of force put in, meaning all members of differing abilities get a tailor-made workout. In addition to our strength training circuit, we also offer Pilates which is an optional extra for members and non-members. Pilates improves body strength and tone and relieves muscle tension by working on posture, balance and control. These classes complement the resistance training that our express circuit provides.

I have been coming to Fitness for Women (formerly Curves) for about ten years now, firstly in Hampton and for the last three years in Egham. I joined more to get fit rather than to lose weight - and as long as I attend regularly my posture is better, I feel stronger and healthier, and have more body confidence. It's the only regular exercise regime that I have kept to for any length of time (and have tried many different types). The staff and members are all very friendly and it makes going round the circuit a social occasion as well as a work-out! Julie keeps introducing new ideas and events and it is never boring.

At my last gym, the personal trainer was so bored by my attempts that his attention was 100% elsewhere, and I gave up. So Easter saw me climbing the stairs to Fitness for Women and now 1 week after my 60th birthday, I am fitter, slimmer and have more energy than I have had for years. The gym is the little secret which Egham should NOT be keeping quiet about. 30 minutes 3 times a week (ideally) just for women so no male personal trainers bored by the efforts of a 50 something woman trying to get into shape. The company of women of all ages, stages, sizes and shapes, a laugh and a joke plus the optional extras of belly dancing, pilates and advice. The best thing of all, apart from the reasonable cost, is the fun and interest from Julie and Lucy (inspirational coaches who joke, cajole, nag and push in the best possible way) for us all to do our best. Included in your membership is a monthly weigh and measure and so far, I have lost 15.50” and 17.50lbs and just under 4% in body fat! I am so grateful for the benefits I feel every day. Fitness for Women have added quality and hopefully, quantity to my life. Definitely a case of starting my 60's with a spring in my step and a zest for life. Older person's rail card? No, I will run it instead!
