In 1887, the same year as Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee, David Mann opened the doors of 'David Manns and Sons' in the centre of Cranleigh for the first time. The family originally lived above the shop, but as trade flourished living accommodation was turned into furniture showrooms, the gardens were transformed into stores and the neighbouring cottage was incorporated.

Today Manns is an extensive 40,000sqft department store renowned for excellent personal service and choice of contemporary and traditional furniture, upholstery, beds, carpets, curtains & blinds. As well as home furnishings, Manns also boasts a Cookshop, Housewares, Gardening, Linens, Womenswear & Menswear, Luggage, Haberdashery, Toys, Cards & Gift departments. Customers can also take advantage of Manns' Reward Card scheme, free customer car park and its unique brand of old-fashioned charm!
In its 126th year Manns recognised the need to adapt to a changing world and new consumer patterns, and is undergoing a complete transformation with exciting redevelopments happening throughout the store. Already completed are the glittering new Womenswear Boutique, Menswear Studio and the Manns Toy Shop. Throughout 2014 many more redevelopment projects will be completed including in the Interiors showrooms and in the Housewares departments as well as many more surprises to come before the end of the year.
