Over the years, we have visited many lovely, restored properties in rural settings with a boutique hotel feel to them. This one ranks amongst the very best we have ever stayed in. Our room (a Water Meadow room) was finished off to a high specification with an enormous 6-feet bed, Bose sound dock and a fridge amongst its features. The bathroom had a large shower cubicle with a rainforest shower head as well as a squirty hose. The bath was (just) big enough for two as well. The service was always very good. When we asked for small things at reception, they always responded very quickly. The dinner and breakfast service was very good - in particular our breakfast server Adrienne was warm and chatty (without being presumptuous) and made us feel ever so welcome. The food was of a very high quality. We stayed on a bed & breakfast basis: you can choose as many items as you wish from the breakfast menu. On a couple of days, we started with granola before having a Full English and then brioche French toast with caramelised bananas. At dinner, our food was inventive and tasty. We holidayed with our dog and he could not have been made to feel more welcome. We ate breakfast and dinner in the bar area, which meant we could have our dog with us all of the time. One of the features we really enjoyed was the fact that we had access through our glass sliding doors directly to a landscaped meadow. This meant that we could take our dog for walks along the meadow path (a 15 minute walk) and then sit on our back terrace enjoying our complimentary cafetiere coffees, free orange juice and daily freshly baked mini-biscuits and brownies. Ever so highly recommended.

We have just spent the night in a water meadow room, and what a fabulous night it was....the room is amazing, the extras provided are a wonderful touch. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The views are lovely and so peaceful. We finished our stay with breakfast on the terrace. Can't wait to return
