Background

David is a practical and proactive Chartered Management Accountant, with over thirty five years experience working with small and medium size business's in various accounting roles, including business development, business expansion and funds sourcing, and has served for many years as finance director and company secretary. David believes that the AIM's philosophy is about the client knowing what their accountant is doing for them with clearly set out terms of reference, and costs. He regards working closely with clients as a fundamental part of an ongoing business relationship which will include helping clients better understand the need for good business information in growing their business. Part of this understanding that it is good business practice for both parties to know that the cost of advice is agreed at the outset, rather than being charged by the hour, so there are no "hidden costs" for advice received.

His skills include understanding and advising on all aspects of general business operations and management, including people just starting up a new business, to business owners who have a substantial turnover, and he is a able to explain what seem to be complex business, accounting or financial matters to non financial business people. He would naturally look to undertake the often daunting responsibilities for the business owners, so allowing them to do what they specialise in, and are good at - developing and expanding a profitable business.
