Cannot fault la gondola
I again disagree with Creynolds. I have been many times to La Gondola and class this friendly family run restaurant as one of the best italians i have eaten at. The food is great with plenty of flavour, however the prices are very reasonable. As for waiting for a table in the conservatory... i think your mistaken. You are asked to wait in a lovely small intimate conservatory where you are served drinks untill your FOOD is ready. I for one prefer to sit in a relaxing atmosphere on sofas then at the table awaiting the food. I cannot fault La Gonola for their food, the ambience OR the service!

lovely intimate restaurant,good food well presented and not expensive A really pleasant evening.Oh and its in messingham a quiet town just outside scunthorpe,nowhere near doncaster

excellent food and service!
i have to strongly disagree with the review above, I've been to La gondola many many times and have never ever had a bad meal, i assume you have never thought that tables will be booked out throughout the night which is probably why the restaurant was half empty, as i am very sure it would have filled up throught the night. As for waiting in the conservatory, i like my dining experience to be relaxing and loved the warm welcome and drinks in the conservatory. I have also had the tomato pasta sauce and thought it would excellent and very tasty, the range of steaks are also very tasty and well recommended... clearly 'Creynolds you should stick with Mcdonalds.

Poor Italian Food
Recently visited La Gondola, and can safely say that Gordon Ramsay needs to visit it!!It was appalling from start to finish, poor food served att premium prices, and when complained was totally ignored. Served awful tomato pasta sauce, and recooked potatoes.Even had to wait in conservatory for a table to find that the restaurant was actually half empty. This is one way of boosting your alcohol takings if ever I saw one.
