Great food
This is a fantastic restaurant in a 17th century pub in the middle of nowhere. People from Reading will be familiar with the sister restaurant - the London Street Brasserie. The Crooked Billet does a very similar menu, but in a fantastic environment. My particular favourite is the Venison with haggis. It tastes amazing. The only downside of the Crooked Billet is the parking - it can be a struggle to fit your car in to their overcrowded car park as the place is always absolutely full. From my experience, booking is recommended, especially when driving out in to the sticks.
