The White Hart at Fyfield, Oxfordshire is an historic 15th Century former Chantry House - now the home of award-winning food, local real ales, an interesting and varied wine list and friendly professional service. Recently awarded 2 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence, the White Hart still fulfils its role as the village local and guests are equally welcome to stop by for a drink or a light lunch, aswell as a full 3 courses. Produce is fresh, seasonal and locally sourced wherever possible - including from the White Hart's own kitchen garden where fruit and vegetables are grown. Everything is made fresh on the premises, inlcuding bread, pasta and ice creams. The White Hart provides a fantastic dining experience - whether sitting under the soaring beams of the Great Hall or Minstrel's Gallery, in the cosy bar with roaring log fire or outside on the patio terrace full of aromatic herb gardens.
What a great experience...recommended recently by friends, we thought we would give the White Hart a second try (we had a bad experience several years ago and hadn't returned since) and we are so glad that we did. It is under new ownership and the young couple who have it now are amazing. Their enthusiasm for what they do is contagious! They have turned the place around and the food and service were both superb. What was really nice to see was that despite obviously becoming sucessful and busy, they still had a good local trade. We couldn't fault it in any way. Well done and keep up the good work!
