My husband had bought me singing lessons as a Christmas present, much to my surprise as I had no singing experience other than the usual singing in the privacy of my own home. I was extremely nervous when going to meet Julie for the first time as I had never sang in front of another person before let alone a stranger. As soon as I met Julie, I could tell I was in safe hands and all my apprehensions were put to rest. Julie has a very professional yet extremely friendly personality which is sometimes a hard combination to come accross. I was worried in case I wasn't going to be able to understand musical/vocal jargon but Julie explains things in a non-intimidating, clear and "normal" language, I found it particularly interesting learning about how the voice works. The studio is absolutely fantastic! I love how it incorporates a lesson area as well as a performing area. I have always found Vocal Ovation to be very flexible when it comes to appointment times as Julie is very dedicated and sometimes works up to 7 days per week in order to accommodate your needs. I can honestly say that Julie has given me the confidence I needed when it comes to singing. I went from being a person who would never sing infront of anyone (including my husband) and have just finished recording my vocals for a track that is being produced by an up and coming DJ! I would highly recommend Vocal Ovation to anyone, whether you have singing experience or none at all, as I can assure you that you will feel right at home.

Prior to having coaching sessions with Julie I had sang in a couple of bands with friends for fun and done a few concerts as part of a large choir. The problem was that I did not feel that I was improving and really struggled with many songs that I wanted to sing as I felt that they were all 'too high' I had had a few lessons as part of the choir and tried a one on one with a singing teacher which just felt uncomfortable. Having seen the vocal ovation website I decided to give it a try almost as a last resort and the results have been fantastic. First of all the environment is very professional as all lessons take place in a purpose built studio with top quality equipment. However the main difference for me has been the level of knowledge Julie has and the ability to inspire confidence through a range of teaching methods. Over the past 6 months or so I have finally had the courage to 'go solo' and sing the songs which I have always wanted to, but never had the ability or courage to sing. The feedback has been fantastic. Whatever your reasons for wanting to sing. As a profession or just for the fun. I would highly recommend Julie. BUT BE PREPARED TO WORK HARD
