AVOID, AVOID, AVOID, this is my experience with the Towcester office – a totally frustrating service that took over SEVEN MONTHS from final inspection of our (pretty simple) rear extension to receipt of our Final Certificate. During that time I sent some 25 emails and over 15 phone calls in the last few months alone (that’s in addition to the calls / emails our builder sent). Most emails, calls and messages went unanswered, I’ve had to re-send information previously provided and been given numerous “next week” promises. I could write an essay on the experience but would prefer not to re-live the totally frustrating tale, if it helps you, here’s my tips: • Look at other reviews for this business, my experience is not unique. • Spend a bit more money on a firm with a strong reputation and resource – agree upfront the inputs (documents) and timescales to turn around your final cert. • If you do call the PWC office in Towcester, select Option 4 on the automated switchboard – this is the “pay a bill” option and seems to be the only one they regularly pick up on!!

Terrible company do not use them. In Nov21 I contracted a company that included ‘independent’ building control certification provided by PWC. The job is a simple replacement of a polycarbonate conservatory roof with a light-weight roof. The PWC inspector identified a potential issue that a cross beam may be required and asked for the calculations of the ring beam to check. The contractor provided the calcs in November, stands by their design, but agreed to be bound by PWC findings, however despite chasing PWC will not make a decision. It’s impossible to get hold of anyone other than an administrative assistant and they cannot even schedule a call with a manager …. Makes me think they aren’t independent and the only reason it was so easy to get the contractor to agree to be bound by the findings is because they knew PWC would not document a decision against them

Was recommended by Builder Fasttrack . PWC PASSED the first inspection despite hole in the roof we didn't know about till it snowed.. Asked them to reinspect totally ignored. Ended up going to local council.

Very cheap, but beware, you get what you pay for. Did not do a good job for me. Would not use again. Had to get another building control company to complete the job correctly.
