Happy Days

When visiting Turkey, there are certain things that stick in my memory...Great food, friendly helpful service, and that feeling of being at home. I chanced upon Seraglio during a visit to Beverley and was delighted to find this wonderful restaurant that ticked all the boxes. Great food (the chef helped me select which does not happen in many restaurants!), quality service normally experienced in much more expensive restaurants, and that wonderful warm feeling of being comfortably at home. Well done Seraglio. I wish I could move to Beverley so I could eat here more often. Fancy opening another branch in Scotland?

A treat for the senses!

Since my days in Kalkan, Turkey, I've yearned to revisit that sensation of a night out: a beautiful atmosphere, unrivaled service, and I'm yet to find a superlative which does justice to the food itself.Well now I've found it, and its not even a plane journey away. Seraglio lies in the quaint, yet thriving town of Beverley. Blink and you may miss it, and believe me, that would be missing out. Once inside, the feeling of being swept away into another culture is undeniable - if it weren't for the rain, you'd be forgiven for forgetting you were in England at all! The rustic, authentic building is both beautiful and subtle: with candles, paintings, and a particularly impressive mirror - you'll feel at home in no time. Then comes the service. There's friendly service, and then there's Turkish service. This is the latter - impossibly friendly, yet relaxingly unobtrusive. And the food itself is fantastic. I always enjoyed a Mixed Meze, and Seraglio's is no exception! Finished, of course, with a healthy dose of Baklava! But don't take my word for it - I urge you to visit Seraglio yourself. They'll even book your taxi home!

Seralgio is a lovely little restaraunt in the very heart of the market town of Beverley. I was suprised to find it tooked away near the town's North Bar, but this gave it a nice "cosey" feel. The service was welcoming and felt genuine and the restaraunt has a real authentic quality. There was also the option to sit outside in a nicely toned seating area, however as we went in the middle of Winter this was not really an option! There is a little I can say to fault the food which was well presented and ample. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Seralgio and my only complaint would be that we could so easily have walked past it without noticing it was there at all.

Fresh food, fresh service in the heart of Beverly

I found this restaurant about 6 months ago, I found this site more recently. So I thought I would give you my opinion. The food is traditional Turkish, all of the ingredients are freshly prepared by a team of people who must really care about what they are doing. Not only does it always taste fresh, it's really well presented and a fair size amount of food. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere it's calm,a great place to while away some time or entertain. Even better, if it's sunny (so once in a blue moon in Beverly), it has the best outdoor eating in the area. I challenge anyone to show me a nicer outdoor eating experience. If you have never been, you must try it. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

I've eaten at Seraglios a few times and even more at the Mimosa resaurant in Hull (identical menu). I would be a fervent support of Seraglios as I love this style of food but I won't be returning after my last lot of service. Our waiter was conscending and obviously made a snap judgement about us on the spot. We ordered the set menu and house wine, which was met by a frown. Listen matey it's BBQ food, I don't need any help with the wine list. After this plates were snatched up before cutlery touched them and an outraight grimace when we didn't want dessert. And the place wasn't even half full on a Friday night! My only joy in the evening was collecting up all of the change from the bill and putting it very slowly in my purse!A shame

The place itself is very reminiscent of a typical Turkish restaurant, being located down an alleyway that opens out into a courtyard. It has real mediterranean feel. The service is welcoming and helpful. The food however, was very average. Perhaps I am not a fan of "traditional" turkish food, but I found it very bland. For instance the mixed grill was simply some chicken, some lamb and a spicy sausage. Nothing that couldn't be acheived on ones barbecue. Which was disappointing as the waiter had previously described it as "exciting".All four of us in the party, made the same observation about the lack of imagination in the food. The price was above average, so unfortunately I did not think it represented particularly good value for money.

this we stumbled across , set down a passage which opens into a mediteranean style court yard, this place was packed yet service was very swift, rustic setting and what must be a rustic turkish style menu, fish dishes , lamb dishes etc served like when your in the med, . the menu was brilliant ,simply mediteranean, starters, mains and especially the deserts ,oven poached pear in cinammon was healthy and mouthwatering, what i liked was that it was not sidetracked into serving gateau, pavlova etc, just good honest traditional fayre from turkey!!! staff were on the ball and friendly, if you want to treat someones tastebuds take them to seraglios.

Called here for lunch with a friend and we were very impressed by the food (delicious), the wine (sourced from a local wine merchant) and the courteous service.Thought the layout a bit spartan but we were assured it is typical of many restaurants in TurkeyWell worth a visit - and for us a repeat visit is certain
