In the 19th century, eccentric philanthropist Joseph Williamson created a labyrinth of tunnels under the Edge hill area of Liverpool. The Williamson Tunnels Heritage Centre is owned and operated by the Joseph Williamson Society (Registered Charity No: 1062091). Visitors to this tourist attraction can take a guided tour to explore part of the excavated tunnels and learn about their mysterious history.
