This grade II-listed Fylde pub is situated on the Lancaster Canal in Salwick and provides a wonderful stopping off point for boaters, especially those who are about to use, or have used, the Ribble Link. There is a large dining area which can seat up to 100 people. The cuisine is traditional pub grub and the bar stocks a variety of beers, including four cask ales. For the summer months, there is a recently expanded beer garden plus plenty of outside seating and a large heated smoking area.

All 14 of our party enjoyed a delicious three course meal on Sunday 29th March 2015 at the Hand and Dagger. Good choice, good attendance from the staff and good value. Certainly would recommend a visit.

SOLITUDE and SERVICE.
What a little gem. Having lived on the Fylde coast for many years and watched the decline of local pubs and resturants I didn't believe places like this still existed. We went as a family party of fifteen people wanting to eat. Where treated like Kings and Queens and our grandchildren where not only made to feel welcome but entertained by staff and owners alike ,who provided them with games and pictures to colour in. The food food was typical British Fayre cooked and presented with great care and attention. It delighted not only the eye but the tastebudds as well. The pub has a warm, frendly atmosphere,a beautiful beer garden overlooking unspoiled countryside and the service we received complimented the surroundings. We will certainly be visiting this little gem again.
