I had a work do to organise so thought Cliffe Spice sounded ideal. I booked a table for 9. We arrived at 9 were greeted with a smile. We didn't have to wait for the menu as they were produced straight away! We ordered our drinks and made ourselves comfortable.Although it was a very busy night we didn't have to wait long for the waiter.Starters arrived within 15 minutes and the main course arrived shortly after. After finishing our table was cleared and the dessert menu was produced and oh what a menu! The Royal Pot was to die for!Overall I had a excellent experience there and my colleagues agree. The service was brilliant and so was the food was great. If your looking for great food in a welcoming environment this is your place...

Had a leaflet through our door saying they do a special offer on a Sunday. Husband booked a table for us (+our 2 children) and was told that they would try to squeeze us in but we should have booked in advance. When we finally found the restaurant in the village they place was almost empty. There were 2 waiters and you would think with so few customers to keep happy that the ratio would be fine. Wrong - we waited five minutes to be given a menu. Another fifteen minutes to be asked if we wanted a drink. We ordered drinks for us all and said no ice in the kids drinks and guess what - they arrived with ice which the children then had to scoop out of their glasses. We finally were asked if we wanted to order our food after waiting for almost half an hour and the children were practically chewing the table leg by this point. When the food was served it was edible but I have eaten a lot better. My daughters food came out almost ten minutes after the rest of us had already started eating. Overall if you have the time and patience (just over two hours in the restaurant for starters and mains only - no desserts could not keep the children awake any longer) then go and try it for yourself.
