About

About Us

We are a specialist stone contractor operating within both commercial and high end residential project sectors. Our core business includes the supply, install and renovation of natural stone and composite flooring, cladding, kitchen worktops, vanity tops, staircases, fireplaces, and other architectural features. We also specialise in stone and brick restoration and various aspects of facade cleaning.

Our decades of experience in traditional stone craftsmanship, combined with our vast knowledge of modern materials and techniques enable us to provide a comprehensive and flexible service.

We strive to ensure each task is completed safely, on time, and within budget, by diagnosing and resolving potential issues on site before they develop into potentially much larger problems. And our attention to detail, proactivity, and quality of finish give our clients the confidence to work with us project after project.

Stone Flooring

Stone flooring is as popular today as it has ever been and, when installed to a high quality finish, can enhance any setting. We have laid countless stone floors of all shapes and sizes over the years and take great pride in the quality of installation and overall service we provide.

We source high quality natural stone from all over the world, including marble, granite, limestone, travertine, sandstone, quartzite, slate and onyx. We have also worked with many semi precious materials for decorative patterns and inlaid borders.

We can assist with the following preparatory services:

• Screed installation
• Underfloor heating
• Sound proofing
• Levelling latex
• Tanking systems for wet areas
• Site level survey
• Production of shop drawings (CAD)
• Site setting out

We are also happy to offer advice regarding stone selection/suitability, slip resistance, construction of sub-floor (including movement joints), adhesive and grout specification, installation instructions, seal options and future maintenance regime.

Stone Cladding

Over the years we have been successfully completed numerous internal and external stone cladding projects, using a wide range of materials both from the UK, and around the world.

Stone cladding on steel or concrete framed structures is normally supported and restrained with stainless steel mechanical fixings. Frame type, differential movement, material composition, masonry load and cavity width are just some of the factors that need to be considered when selecting the most appropriate method of installation.

As well as offering advice on construction of frame/substrate, our services include:

• Design and fabrication of proprietary stainless steel angles and fixings
• Full cutting schedules
• Tanking systems for wet areas
• Site level survey
• Production of shop drawings (CAD)
• Site setting out
• Expansion joints

We can also assist with supply and installation of stone cladding in rainscreen and curtain walling situations, including the use of lightweight 'honeycomb backed' material, where weight may be an issue.

Kitchen Worktops

When it comes to kitchen worktops, we offer a friendly, professional and comprehensive service with unrivalled attention to detail.

Once your kitchen has been designed, we can help you 'iron out' your worktop details, such as:

• Nosing profile options
• Drainage groove design
• Basin and hob cut outs
• Joint layout

We can also discuss all the options available to you when it comes to selecting the right material for your kitchen. We work with natural materials from all over the world, including marble, granite, limestone, and lava stones. And we are also highly experienced in working with many types of composite materials inckuding Silestone, Caesarstone, Okite, Quarella, and Zodiaq by Du Pont.

Once the overall design has been finalised and the material has been selected, we create bespoke templates of your kitchen worktops. This will ensure that everything fits perfectly during installation, to minimise disruption, and reduce time spent on site.

Finally, after the fabrication process, we carry out a high quality installation of your bespoke natural stone or composite kitchen worktops and splash backs, with colour matched resin filled joints and silicone pointing, where required. We can even remove and take away your existing tops, if necessary.

Restoration

Our highly skilled operatives specialise in the repair of stone, and brickwork facades to the detailed requirements and standards of English Heritage and conservation officers, including the following:

• Supply and installation of natural stone: cladding, copings, cills, window surrounds and bespoke architectural features.
• Supply and installation of precast stone (as above).
• Indent repairs, and plastic/mortar repairs, ensuring compatibility with the existing structure.
• Re-pointing of joints, including flush, weatherstruck and tuck pointing.
• Pinning and grouting of fractured elements.
• Resin grouting and helibar installation.
• Removal of redundant fixings and corroding embedded iron cramps (likely cause of spalls/cracks on the surface of the construction).
• Access provision including:temporary and fixed scaffold, cherry picker, scissor lift, cradles, abseiling equipment..

We can also provide a thorough site survey service to determine extent and likely cause of defects, followed by a report outlining our diagnosis and a fully itemised schedule of repairs required, along with material specification and appropriate methodology of undertaking these works. The schedule can also be broken down into essential and cosmetic repairs, if required.

Facade Cleaning

Weathering cycles, airborne particles, industrial and vehicular gaseous pollutants and biological soiling can all contribute to the soiling of architectural surfaces. It may be that the soiling causes stone deterioration or decay, or reduces the permeability of the substrate; or it may simply appear as an unsightly surface discoloration.

The cause and extent of the soiling must be considered, as well as the type of construction material, before selecting the most appropriate method of cleaning. Once the most effective, yet sympathetic cleaning technique has been selected, we would offer control cleaning samples for the client's approval. This control panel/s would then set the benchmark for a required standard of finish.

We offer the following cleaning techniques/systems:

• Nebulous water cleaning
• Low pressure air abrasive systems (Jos TORC)
• Super Heated systems (DOFF)
• Abrasive cleaning/ Blasting
• Poultice application
• Paint removal
• Graffiti removal and AGS (Anti-Graffiti System)
• Tensid systems
• Chemical cleaning

Please contact us to discuss your requirements. or for any further assistance in specifying the correct cleaning techniques for your project.

Renovation

Tiling

We apply the same exacting standards to our tiling projects as we do with our stone installations, and go the extra mile to deliver the high quality of finish we consider to be necessary. So, to be frank, if budget is your primary concern then we may not be the tiling contractor for you!!

We consider various setting out options to ensure we avoid small unsightly cut tiles, or ugly interface junctions, wherever possible. It is the small details like this that can make all the difference to the finished job.
