The only aspect I would fault is that the service is a bit slow.

A Toby meal is always good value, but is it good to eat? Well, our Saturday midday visit was a great success as the food fresh and tasty. Friendly staff too! - that always helps to make the meal more enjoyable. We will definitely go again.

We took a party of pensioners, six in all with an average age of 80. The attention and service was excellent and for pensioners there was a lot of well cooked veg and meat. The Yorkshire pud was too crisp for me but hey, the value is great. The treacle sponge with custard is as good as you can get anywhere.

Like any Toby you have to time when you go. If you go at a busy time, you may have to wait anything up to an hour to get a table. If you go at a very quiet time, the food will be a little dried out. However between 7-9 pounds (depending on day) for a plate of food is very reasonable. Plenty of choice for starters and puddings (not really sure how people can manage them).A place to remember for a weeknight where you don't want to large it on the town but don't want to cook.
