In June of 1996 Powerbase moved from their old premises in an industrial unit on the edge of Ashford to the much more central Beaver Road location. This larger site, with its much better facilities has allowed us to expand the range of services and products offered. We are now moving to a larger more modern site, 1b Wooton Road, Ashford. This is so we can look after our customers better and improve on our already large range of services. Powerbase became one of the first organisations in the country to achieve Kitemark Approval for its repair and servicing. The British Standards Institute continues to vet and monitor the company in accordance with the requirements of the scheme.

Whatever your automotive needs, we can help. Our highly trained technicians are expert in the repair and maintenance of all makes of vehicle, and use state of the art equipment to ensure a first class service without breaking the bank. We were also one of the first vehicle repair workshops in the country to be awarded the coveted Kitemark for the quality of our work and for customer service. In addition we have now been vetted by Kent Trading Standards and are proud to be members of their Buy With Confidence scheme. In addition we have signed up to the Motor Industry Code Of Practice.

Servicing

We always service in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations, we use dedicated service schedules for that vehicle, and use the correct parts. By doing this we can guarantee that the work is to the same standard as the franchised dealer, but considerably less expensive. Nearly every garage in the country will tell you they can service your car. But what is a service? What should be carried out on your car and when?. The manufacturers of each vehicle have tested their vehicles to destruction. They know what items should be checked, serviced or replaced, and when to do it. They also know what is the correct specification oil, coolant, brake fluid, gear oil. Each manufacturer sets out a list of procedures to be carried out on each service, but these items are not necessarily the same for each service.
Every manufacturer publishes detailed service schedules, together with oil and fluid specifications, if you want your vehicle to remain reliable then it is essential that you take notice of what they say. We use technical data supplied by a company called Autodata who work with the manufacturers to ensure that the data used is totally up to date.
So when someone books a service for a vehicle that we have never seen before we will take our time to make sure that we learn about that vehicles service history. This is to ensure that it receives the one that is appropriate.

MOT Testing

Our maximum test fee is currently a little over £50.00 (No Vat chargeable). We believe that this is exceptional value for the work carried out, and the level of responsibility placed upon both the test station and the actual tester. The Mot tester is a highly trained technician who checks your car against a set of set criteria, our aim is to ensure that your vehicle is safe for you to drive, unlikely to damage a passing pedestrian, and environmentally friendly. If you feel that your car has been unfairly failed or indeed passed when it should not, you have the right to appeal to the agency responsible (VOSA) They will investigate on every occasion and take action against the test station where necessary.
