Whenever we want a decent, in terms of portion size and quality “Lite Bite and a Pint” (Steak & Chips and a Jacket Potato?) the wife and I come here. The service is generally good, the staff friendly, car parking is normally excellent and, the beer itself (A pint of Country) ain't bad either. The pub itself however is another matter.Being an “Old Geezer” affords me the dubious luxury [in my opinion] of being fully qualified having been in hundreds of pubs thousands of times - many of them Mc's houses to say, especially in this day & age and bearing in mind (as I said) the fact that this establishment is a “McMullens House”, this place is a bit of a DUMP.In my opinion as a customer not an architect, it may be that the general lay out of The White Harts existing bar areas may, may mean an architect would likely to have to be very very creative if it were ever intended to “Fully Referb” this establishment meaning (perhaps) expense can't be spared. In my opinion as a customer however, it is apparent décor wise inc. Curtains, Paint Work (windows, walls & ceilings) that expense has been spared and for somewhile.Other Mc's houses not a million miles away, The Builders (Potters Bar) and Robin Hood (The Ridgeway – Enfield) have had money spent on them which, whilst welcome, was never as needed as here.Come on Mc's shape up.
