The Hertfordshire Orthopaedic Centre is a group of orthopaedic surgeons working together to provide private services from the Pinehill Hospital in Hitchin and the Spire Harpenden Hospital. We offer expert orthopaedic services using cutting edge surgical techniques. Our Orthopaedic Surgeons

Mr David Powles specialises in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of knee problems.
Mr Hugh Dorrell specialises in shoulder surgery but continues his interest in hip and knee surgery and sports injuries.
Mr Phil Kerr specialises in sports injuries, arthroscopic surgery and hip and knee replacement.
Mr Minhal Chatoo specialises in knee problems ranging from sports injuries to arthritis but continues his interest in hip, foot and ankle surgery.
Mr Fred Schreuder is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with a specialist interest in hand surgery.
Mr Nick de Roeck specialises in the treatment of sports hip problems such as femoro-acetabular impingement, hip surgery and knee surgery.
Mr Adam Rumian in complex shoulder and elbow surgery.

Our Services

By working in partnership we provide a high level of orthopaedic care to patients and high quality service to GPs and other healthcare professionals. Patients requiring orthopaedic treatment can be referred directly to either of our clinics at Pinehill Hospital and Spire Harpenden Hospital. Patients will be promptly seen, their condition diagnosed and treatment arranged. We are proud to offer a comprehensive orthopaedic service, pooling expertise, shorter waiting times for private appointments and easy access through our fulltime practice staff, rapid access to MRI, ultrasound scanning and x-ray at both the Pinehill and Spire Harpenden hospitals, on site physiotherapy, cutting edge surgical techniques, clinical audit of all operative cases.

Shoulder and Elbow

Hand

The Hertfordshire Orthopaedic Centre specialises in the following hand conditions and procedures: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Trigger Finger, Dupuytren's Contracture, De Quervains, Ganglion Cysts, Mallet Finger, Scaphoid Fractures, Tendon and Nerve Conditions, Hand and Wrist Arthritis, Joint replacements in the hand, Cubital Tunnel Syndrome and TFCC injuries.
