An innovative “Step down" recovery service for people with complex needs provided by a new hospital in the heart of a welcoming community

Baldock Manor offers rehabilitation treatment for individuals with a mental illness, a learning disability, autistic spectrum disorder and Korsakoff's syndrome.

Residents have access to a range of facilities including, a large garden, quiet areas and spacious en-suite bedrooms equipped for individuals with a high level of physical disability.

A specialist Korsakoff's Ward also provides cognitive rehabilitation and assistance for people to progress to the least restrictive environment where they can live safely with an appropriate level of independence.

Each ward provides care for those with complex needs which, as well as mental health problems or learning disabilities, include mobility problems, physical disability, epilepsy and swallowing difficulties.

Baldock Manor have a team of highly skilled professionals, offering a specialist programme appropriate to individual's diagnosis, including consultant psychiatrists, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and registered nurses.

Eltisley Manor is a registered psychiatric nursing care home located near to St Neot's, Cambridgeshire.

With 24-hour qualified staffing, Eltisley Manor's primary aim is to support individuals living with enduring mental health problems and to improve the quality of their lives so they can make a gradual transition to an appropriate level of independent living.

The care home places great emphasis on the importance of residents developing hobbies and taking part in social and leisure activities as well as the clinical programmes.

Howe Dell Manor is situated in Hatfield, specialising in providing care for residents with forensic histories.

Howe Dell provides a safe, secure and homely residential care setting, allowing residents to have as much independence as possible and isolation where required.

The Coach House provides a vital stepping stone for individuals that are nearing the end of their rehabilitation and are about to be discharged into the community but require support with their transition. Our location allows for the best of both worlds as we are a beautiful Manor House nestled in the middle of a quiet leafy gated community in Hatfield for a relaxed environment but we are also about 5 minutes' walk from the local town and large super store which makes accessing amenities quick and easy.

Lavender Lodge is a residential home for up to 9 adults with learning disabilities, who may also have mental health conditions and complex needs. The home is located in the historic market town of St Albans. St Albans boasts excellent transport links, shopping, leisure facilities, restaurants, libraries, parks as well as historic Roman sites.

Residents living in Lavender Lodge are encouraged and supported to have an active role with the day to day running of the home and in having a say in how their services are delivered. All care and support provided is holistic, person-centred and individuals are encouraged to be as independent as they can be.

Residents are supported to access the local community and its amenities, which include college and work opportunities.

Lavender Lodge offers a stepping stone for residents to develop their skills, gain confidence and work towards moving on into a more independent setting, should they wish.

Greenwood Cottage is a small residential home for 6 adults with learning disabilities, who may also have mental health conditions and complex needs. The home is located in the historic market town of St Albans. St Albans boasts excellent transport links, shopping, leisure facilities, restaurants, libraries, parks as well as historic Roman sites.

Residents living at Greenwood Cottage are encouraged and supported to have an active role with the day to day running of the home and in having a say in how their services are delivered.

All care and support provided is holistic and person-centred and individuals are encouraged to be as independent as they can be.

Residents are supported to access the local community and its amenities and the home has a daily activity programme, which includes activities such as games and hobbies, home baking, arts and crafts and music.

Located in Stevenage, Winnett Cottage is an innovative service set up to spearhead 21st century active rehabilitation in a truly relaxed and homely environment. The ethos of the staff team is to support the resident in the continuum of their journey through their care pathway to recovery, and to help them harness and secure skills that will enable them to thrive independently in the community.

Winnett Cottage is part of the integrated male care pathway within Nouvita, which also includes our hospital in Baldock and mental health rehabilitation services at Eltisely Manor and Howe Dell respectively.

We encourage residents to individually identify their goals and agree a plan on how to achieve them using the Recovery Star.

Residents are linked up with work opportunities, education at the local College and meaningful activities as provided by Mind and YMCA who offer a full range of therapeutic and leisurely activities that our residents can continue using long after discharge.

A stepping stone to independence

Windsor House is an independent psychiatric aftercare home, that is primarily a step-down unit for residents of Winnett Cottage in Stevenage.

Located nearby, and benefiting from the proximity of Winnett Cottage's 24-hour staff, Windsor House further enables independent living as residents are in the final stages of transition back to the community.

Placements are available for 3 male residents aged 18-65 with or without forensic history.

Windsor House is part of the integrated male care pathway within Nouvita which also includes our hospital in Baldock and mental health rehabilitation services at Eltisely Manor and Howe Dell respectively.
