Piggies Restaurant is a Carvery & Grill. We offer a traditional Carvery, as well as the grill option running from wednesday & Thursday evening. They have an ever-changing menu based on seasonal products, using local organic and free range food by independent suppliers. The restaurant is also available to hire for wedding receptions and private parties
We wanted a small wedding. So with 30 people we booked Piggies, We had a great day the food and staff were brilliant. We would recommed piggies to everybody. Piggies is great for mid week the weekend or private party. They also do take aways and deliveries!!!!!

Trying to get a last minute booking for Valentine's weekend when EVERYTHING was booked out, Piggies was worryingly accommodating, so we wondered what to expect...only 2 other couples in there, but it was everyone else who missing out!!! Good as the carvery was, it was with the starters and desserts that Jason shows what he can do. Pumpkin Ravioli and Portobello Mushroom both great (esp the ravioli), and no complaints about the Brioche Bread & Butter Pudding and Chocolate Fudge Cake either! Jason deserves a wider audience than we experienced, and we recommend a visit soon before this small venue becomes harder to book!

Piggies has come a long way since I last ate there a couple of years back. It's now under new management and the place is much more welcoming and accomodating than it was before. The food was cooked extremely well and the chef Jason was more than happy to cater for one of our party's dietry needs. I opted for the carvery and agree with eight_north that the meat was delicious; the beef particularly tasty. All the veg was cooked well and I managed a second helping of the main course. The puddings were a delight, with the caramel apple pie being a favourite on our table. Apparently the chef worked with Gordon Ramsay on a placement and I think some of Ramsay's attitude towards simple fresh seasonal cooking has rubbed off. I'd definitely recommend this place and will be back soon.

On the 23/12/08 We held a party at piggise for my mothers 70th Birthday. The ambience was created by ourselves the bar was mismanaged by a bar person who didnt have a idea what she was doing.the starters were good but after that everything went down hill the roast potatoes were dried out the sprouts were undercooked the rest of the veg was edable and the stuffing was like thick porridge bland and no taste and then we get some stuff they called the gravy this was like dish water bland and tasteless if the new owners wish to continue in business they need to pull their socks it spoiled what was a very good evening I shall not be going here ever again ( cheap eat if you could stomach the food )

This carvary is a bit tricky to find but worth it. For your set price you get a starter, carvary main course then pudding. The meat is delicious and even when I've been midweek, the veg has been hot not left out under lights to go cold like some places. The tables are a little bit close together for my liking but that is just a minor point.
