A small store with professional eye test facilities. However, a rude shop assistant ruined everything. Just like quite a few other customers had encountered (this business has 1-star poor reviews on Yelp, Google and elsewhere, all due to rude staff), I had a terrible experience there from a very rude staff called Ollie. She was very grumpy with a natural instinct of patching up lies, making the optician store seem a scam. when her lie was exposed and questioned, her bad temper erupted like a volcano. I've never encountered someone so poorly trained in our public service sector. If no improvement is made, I can see this business closing soon. Best of luck. I was so shocked by such rude staff that almost forgot to say that the new lenses I received both got tiny scratches which they refused to do anything about them, nor apologise or explaine for any possible mis-transportation reasons which may have causes those scratches. I'm not the only customer who suffered from their ride staff. In fact I found similar complaints online for the rudeness of their staff, especially the following review in which I suspect it was the same rude assistant we encountered. April 2016, from MrsF-3: Worst shop assistant ever! I am an extremely friendly/personable business woman and can honestly say I am rarely offended by anyone that I meet. However - I feel compelled to put my thoughts in writing. The shop assistant at David Paul was one of the most offensively condescending and rude women I have EVER met. I tried to break the ice by smiling and having a friendly chat but she just glared at me in complete silence - as if I had not spoken! Every question I asked was answered abruptly and rudely with a face so sour it could curdle milk. David Paul - I worked in brand marketing for the UK's leading telecoms company for many years, & our brand values were the backbone of our success story; 'refreshing, dynamic, friendly'. Having the optometry equivalent of Annie's 'Mrs Hannigan' to greet you is damaging to your brand and losing you customers hand over fist. I most certainly won't be coming back! And a message to your shop assistant; in the words of Annie herself..."you're never fully dressed without a SMILE" There are also customers who found the staff at David Paul's extremely rude over the phone...
