I simply do not understand the poor reviews. I have been using these kennels for years and my dogs just love it here. How do I know? Because when we arrive the dogs can't wait to get inside. The kennels are spotless and the dogs do have outside runs. The drug regime is followed to the letter and once when my dog became unwell, he was taken to MY vet rather than the kennels vet because they wanted to make sure there was nothing underlying going on. The dogs come back happy, quite tired and always beautifully bathed and groomed. The last time we came to be groomed one of my dogs was still in the car when he realised where he was and he became so excited, he fell out the car in his haste to get inside. Please ignore the negative comments - if you are considering these kennels go and see them for yourself and then see how a kennel should be run.

Put my dog in here as my usual kennels were full because a friend recommended turns out she meant the kennels down the road that also has the word cottage in the name ! NEVER AGAIN - owner was extremely rude - no outside runs attached to kennels amazes me how they got a license would prefer not to go away next time rather than leave them here !

I just called this place and was so shocked by the rudeness of the woman on the phone I decided to leave it. Rude, abrupt and made me feel like I was in detention at school. Examples include 'does that price include daily walks?' 'What do you think it includes!?' And 'my dog is a mongrel, not sure which breed but between a lab and spaniel' 'well, are you sure? Humph!' I don't appreciate being spoken to like an idiot. Thanks oak cottage but no thanks.

The owners of the kennels are lovely and have pets of their own. If there is a problem with your pet they take them straight to the vets where they are very well respected clients. They would never do anything to harm a pet and love all the pets as their own. The owner is certainly not a drunk! and is one of the nicest people i've met. The dogs are regularly walked and given lots of TLC. Obviously the dogs would be restless as they are all trying to play with each other but the kennel staff try to keep them as entertained as possible. I would definitely recommend Oak Cottage Kennels

I left my dog at these kennels in August as my sitter had let me down & I was unable to get in anywhere else - it quickly became apparent that this is a large operation the dogs have no outside runs attached to their kennels & consequently have to be walked to the exercise area which is not very large on leads - the staff were nice enough but the woman owner was obviously drunk, extremely rude & reeked !! The dogs already there were extremely restless & the kennels stank !! I was ushered out very quickly when I began to protest ! When I collected my dog she had lost a considerable amount of weight, had an ear infection & also an upset tummy !!!I would never recommend this establishment in a million years & only wished I'd managed to arrange something else at the time !
