Wedding Reception Farce

Following several planning meetings for our wedding 'High Tea' reception (As suggested by the general manager) we found, on the day that many empty promises had been made. The catering was inadequate, as we found out later, many of our guests had been to the corner shop to buy food as all that was left on the buffet when they got there were cakes and fruit scones. The owner argued later that they did make more sandwiches, it's just a shame they didn't tell anyone! The service we were promised was non existent, no guidance for our guests or direction through the reception from staff and the 'Unlimited' tea and coffee only made an appearance once my husband had tracked down a member of staff to ask for it. The minimal food that was served was not as had been agreed with the manager leaving children and fussy eaters to go hungry (Or to the corner shop). When we complained, the owner was condescending and implied that we hadn't spent enough money per head to warrant a full service. Now that's not what I call hospitality! I would not touch this hotel with someone else's bargepole, let alone my own ever again.
