Stambridge fisheries
Took my 9 year old 3 months ago, 3 rods £15, £5 a rod, took him today 24/08/20, £25 for 3 rods. Quite a price hike. We only go for 6 hours. Very expensive. The lake I go to has 40 pounders in it and he only charges £20 for 24 hours. I won't be taking my boy to stambridge fisheries for that sort of money.

food / service/view
I have recently visited the stambridge fisheries to find a new venue for food . And i can only say my eyes opend up when i walked in to the new modern cafe/ resturant . The view was very beautiful looking across the lake seeing the ducks it was so nice and so differant from other places ive visited for food .and also the service was very good and the food was outstanding ..freshley cooked just the way i like it .. there was also some fishing going on that i could see in the distance from the window . i will be sure to visit again and i will take the family next time .. jackie..

Used to be good....what happened?
I used to fish this venue quite a lot and it was great however on returning a few years on with fond memories I now find the car park was obstructed by a truck till gone 7:30am and there was no sign of any opening times posted anywhere. On actually getting into the venue I was met by various swims with rods out and no other tackle which seems they were bivvied up in other swims with their mates or fishing several swims at a time, this wouldn't be allowed at any other venue. It was my sons first time fishing and we ended up just getting back in the car and going home. Sad to say it but I will never come back here again. 3 stars for value as I never even got as far as paying or fishing for that matter.

Bait alarms going off for 48 hours
Great venue. Booked a 2 night, 1 day weekend with 4 other lads on the Car Park Lake and we caught 34 carp between us (all between 3-20lb) Fred is a diamond bloke and the venue feels very safe and well run. 3 of us had PB fish with biggest being an 18lb mirror, but the alarms were going off every hour. No sleep really for 2 nights, but won't complain. PVA bags worked very well.

15-6-2011,another great day at stambridge,i had 12 carp and one tench plus approx 25 decent roach,top carp was a 16lb 7 oz leather with several of the others in low double figures,i fish for carp but my companion who fishes for all fish species had a good mixed bag of roach,bream and tench.fred as usual was there to provide the sarnies,bait,tackle and talk.in the past 3 months or so i have seen carp to 22lb 70z caught,and huge bags of mixed fish from the contests.an excellent and safe venue for carp fishers and for families with youngsters out for a days sport and enjoyment.a great days fishing and its still only a fiver a rod.

today 10-11-2009,i broke my personal best carp record at stambridge with a 23lb mirror carp on the top lake,it was ably netted for me by fred who also made the usual great bacon sarnies.not bad for a £5 day ticket,i only fish for carp and i have never had a blank day at stambridge,there are also tench,bream,roach,koi,eels,sturgeon. An excellent fishery with its own shop and cafe,well worth a visit for big carp hunters and mixed bag fishers alike.

Stambridge is a faverioute of mine, its a good lake produces alot of nice carp, and fred will look after you if you have any problems, and he cooks a nice breakfast :)

fishies
"fishing is good here if you like paying a lot for not much. Go to doggets or Priory the fishies are bigger.... Maybe if you have a motor vehicle you could go to Richworth linear or Chigbourough they have very big fishies up to 45" in richworth..... PLus catfish

standards never drop
i have been fishing at stambridge now for some years and it has always been of a high standard fred is always on hand to talk fishing and to advise nothing is to much trouble and he also cooks a mean breakfast .its a well looked after and very safe place to fish day or night .photos of the catches are in the cafe for all to see .it has many regulars but new people are always welcome if you try stambridge once you will go again

stambridge fisheries
I've been to stambridge about 12 times since i started fishing i don't know what keeps pulling me back here. It's not of great size but its 2 lakes are full to the rafters of bream, carp to 22lb's (i think),roach, and crucian carp. You can catch them on sweetcorn, maggots, boilies but i've used a mix of ground trout pellet with other ingredients that i mould around the hook and it pulls uyou fish all day. Every time i've been i've caught carp, roach and bream. If your fishing for carp go for the top lake ! But if you want to just coarse fish the bottom is where you should go. this lake puts places like doggetts to shame. The shop is cheap-ish does good food sells tackle and boilies sweetcorn etc. + poles and some rods. no live bait thought. This is the place to take your kids if they or you want to fish in a safe environment as there are no C.H.A.V.S. to p**s everyone off ! since around november last year the prices wer £5 for up to 2 rods and £10 for 3 i believe. hope its been a help.

excellent fishing for adults and children. good prices, food + drinks on site.two great lakes well stocked + cared for by fred who always has time to help or advise you well run excellent fishery. highly recommended to all.

good family fishery in essex
Stambridge Fisheries which is located just outside of Southend on sea Essex is a fantastic fishery for anglers of all levels.There are Carp for those that like a good bend in their rod and Bream,Tench and Roach for those that just wish to bag up.The car park is located between the main lake and the owners house and it's safe to leave your car there. The main lake tends to attract the carpers whilst the 2nd lake is good for the pleasure angler. All baits work well with maggot being popular for roach and bream whilst pellets and bread attract the larger fish.Sweetcorn will catch anything and never seems to fail. Ticket prices ars reasonable and wont break the bank. All in all i would recomend this fishery to any one who wants to catch fish in a safe and pleasant enviorment.
