Who we are

Welcome to the Gants Hill First Class Learning Centre. We support children in the local community with both maths and English tuition. The First Class Learning maths and English programmes have been designed by a team of experienced specialists with a wealth of experience in primary, secondary and special needs education as well as commitment to enhance children's learning.

The courses have been designed specifically to support children studying within the framework of the National Curriculum for England, and are designed to be both flexible and responsive to the individual requirements of each child. Students of all ages attend our study centre at St George C of E church hall in IG2 6XQ. We cater for learners from early Years and primary through to GCSE.

Our expert tutors support your child's learning in maths, English or both subjects together in order to help with their school studies, build confidence and develop independent learning skills.

Our English and maths programmes are tailored to learners' individual needs so students move on only when they are confident with a topic. At First Class Learning we believe in 1% steps to 100% success.

How does it work?

Before your child commences study with First Class Learning in Gants Hill, he/she will be assessed by your Centre Manager. This assessment will help to determine the specific needs of your child and ensure a suitable starting point in the course. Using a combination of carefully structured worksheets and textbooks, we will devise a programme specifically for your child.

Once enrolled, your child can attend the Study Centre on a regular basis. At the Study Centre, he/she will complete a short piece of maths and/or English which will be marked, returned and discussed with the tutor. Your child will be given a detailed programme of homework to be completed before the next class.

At the Study Centre, your Centre Manager will carry out regular assessments of your child's progress. The results of these assessments will be discussed with you and your child, and will help to form a clearer picture of your child's progress and projections for future study.
