Average Food & Check Your Bill

I had read the reviews of the sister restaurant in Buckhurst Hill of the same name and feared the worst. We were a group of 10 and as I hadn't booked the place just turned up anyway. However I was pleasantly surprised as the place was cramped and the satff were all welcoming and friendly. We ordered our starters but 4 of the 10 were all told that their choice was not available, so had to choose something else. Both courses turned up and were average, which was the concensus around the table. But we all had a good night and enjoyed ourselves. Then the bill turns up and my fears from the reviews I had read of the Buckhurst Hill restaurant were confounded, in that 6 additional drinks had been added to our bill. 4 drinks at £7 each, which when queried they put down to people turning up at different times, they obviously forgot we arrived as a group. There also a couple of addiontal coffees added to the bill. So without to much quibbling they removed over £30 off the bill relating to these un-oredered drinks. We obviously didn't leave a tip either aafter this blatant attempted over-charging. Like I say this theme is mentioned a few times on the sister restaurants reviews. So funnily enough I wouldn't toally write the place off (mainly due to the low amount of alternate places to eat in Epping / Theydon), but I would just say check your bill thoroughly.
