Tapas for a tenner

Service

Quality

Value

The tapas here is a variety of dishes that can vary a lot in quality and taste. The tapas for a tenner is one of the best offers that La Tasca are able to offer and the best way to fill up on as much as you want. If you go in at other times then be prepared to pay much more and settle for less to eat if you dont hand over lots of cash. The chorizo, calamari, spiced potatoes in tomato sauce, and the meatballs are all good. The spanish omelette, with potatoes is a good filler too.To get you in the spanish mood you can fill up on sangria or even spanish beer, but other options are on the drinks menu, if they are not for you. Relaxed food in a good comfortable venue.

La Tasca

The la Tasca spanish tapas restaurant is on the very steep north hill in colchester. The design of La Tasca is cosy and warm with lots of hot colours and makes it feel very inviting. I like the chorizo and the patatas bravas are tasty in a hot and spicy tomato sauce. Tapas is a selection of lots of small dishes that offer you lots of different tastes and when its done well it is great. The spanish beer is good and the jugs of sangria are also ok. A good place to share with friends and have a relaxed time.

Viva la tasca!

We love this place, especially the tapas for a tenner deal, Sunday -Thursday all day! Lots on the menu you can chose from (see their website for the list) and will get you tasting different things that you would never had thought of in the first place.Although when you go to Spain the tapas they serve is completely different from here in the UK, but la tascas atmosphere and music do make you feel like your in the med (even when it is raining!).When you go, try heading for the back rooms, low ceilings and candle lit areas, lot more cosier than the front rooms. The only problem is when you have ordered quite a few dishes, (even though its all you can eat)_ you are made to feel a bit uncomfortable (once we was told chef is closing the kitchen at 9pm when they close at 11!??). Mostly the service is great (except the only chap there.. he's quite blunt and has no sense of humour). Food always fresh and hot!A great place to take a bunch of you out on a tenner and have a few bevies!
